ALLEN COUNTY – A Kansas teen was injured in an accident just before 7a.m. on Friday in Allen County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Ford Focus driven by Michaela Victoria Swindell, 19, Savonburg, was southbound on U59 two miles south of Elsmore.

The driver fell asleep. The vehicle crossed the centerline and into east ditch.

Swindell was transported to the hospital in Iola,

She was wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
