Heavy rains and severe weather across Kansas postponed a number of first round state softball and baseball games.
TMP’s softball team will face top seed Southeast of Saline at 10 a.m. Friday in Manhattan at the 3A state tournament. The game was originally scheduled for Thursday evening.
According to the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) there will be no third place game. They instead will attempt to play the first round and semifinal games Friday with the championship game on Saturday.
Hays High’s first round game with Kansas City Piper at the 4A-D1 tournament in Salina has been postponed to Friday as well, although no start time has been set as of Thursday night. The two teams were set to play Thursday at 5p.m.
Weather also altered the 4A-D2 tournament on Thursday. Russell/Victoria’s opening round game against Goodland has been moved to Friday. They will play the second game of the day.
