Downtown Hays Development Corp.’s Fire on the Frontier BBQ Classic will begin Friday in downtown Hays.

The two-day event, now in its eighth year, will be at Municipal Park and include live music and a KCBS-sanctioned barbecue competition.

The awards ceremony for the competition will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the National Guard Armory, 200 Main.
