According to the National Weather Service, Ellis County Emergency Management officials responded to reports of flooding along the north fork of Big Creek on Wednesday morning.The flooding occurred 4 to 5 miles north of Hays, according to the report.

A flood warning will be in effect until 10:30 a.m., the NWS warned, advising drives to avoid driving in high water.
