SEWARD COUNTY- One person was injured in an accident just after 1:30p.m. on Tuesday in Seward County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1983 GMC pickup driven by Lyle Paul Ohlde, 72, Saint David, AZ., was eastbound on U.S. 54 ten miles east of Liberal.
The pickup’s tire blew out.
It entered the westbound lane, struck the trailer of a westbound 2007 freightliner semi driven by Luis Orlando Coto, 51, Garden City.
A westbound 2015 Freightliner semi driven by Fanica Gabriel Costea, 43, Hays, made an evasive maneuver to the right trying to avoid the pickup.
The rear driver’s side trailer axles struck the pickup and the semi overturned in the westbound ditch.
Ohlde was transported to the hospital in Liberal.
Coto and Costea were not injured.
All three were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
