The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is looking into recent officer-involved shootings in northern Kansas.

The KBI is still investigating an August 18, incident in which a Hays police officer shot and killed a 36-year-old man with developmental disabilities who failed to obey the officer’s commands.

On August 15, in Ellsworth County, three officers from two jurisdictions discharged their firearms during a chase involving a possibly armed subject. The KBI says that suspect Alberto Garcia-Tapia, 35, was injured.
