Tuesday saw record setting high temperatures in many areas of Kansas, according to the National Weather Service.
A record high temperature of 99 degrees in Garden City on Tuesday broke the old record for September 20 of 98 degrees in 1977.
It was 98 degrees on Tuesday in Dodge City to break a record of 95 degrees set in 1970.
Salina, KS tied it record high of 96. Previously set in 1955. Russell, KS tied its record high of 95, previously set in 1981. #kswx

At 3 p.m. on Tuesday, it was 96 degrees in Salina to tie a record for September 20 of 1955. At 4 p.m. on Tuesday it was 95 degrees in Russell to tie a record for the date in 1981.
