2 Kansas men hospitalized after pickups collide

KHPGRAY COUNTY – Two Kansas men were injured in an accident just after 8p.m. on Monday in Gray County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a Dodge Ram 3500 driven by Jerald D. Wartman, 71, Ingalls, was northbound on County Road 4 and Y Road.

The driver failed to yield from posted yield sign and collided in the intersection with a 1997 Chevy S-10 pickup driven by Johan Newfeld, 61, Montezuma.

The Dodge continued northeast and hit a utility pole.

Wartman was transported to the hospital in Garden City.

Newfeld was transported to the hospital in Dodge City.

Neither driver was wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
