TOPEKA–The Kansas Department of Commerce plans to announce the launch of a new program on Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 at 2 p.m. Commerce and its partners will launch the new program at a press conference at Sunlite Science & Technology Inc. in Lawrence.
The new program is designed to incentivize, encourage and develop the entrepreneurial spirit to foster new businesses in the state of Kansas. The specifics and details of the program will be made available after the press event on Oct. 24.
To maximize the potential of the new program, Kansas Commerce will partner with the state’s university structure, leveraging the resources of the university partners, which are proven innovation and incubation systems. Partners in this endeavor include Kansas State University’s Advanced Manufacturing Institute, The University of Kansas’ Bioscience and Technology Business Center, Wichita State University’s
Innovation Campus, Pittsburg State University’s Center for Innovation and Business Development, as well as Fort Hays State University’s Center for Entrepreneurship, Emporia State University’s Small Business Development Center and Washburn University.
Commerce Secretary Antonio Soave, as well as representatives from the university partners and the community will participate in the event.
