It was hot in Hays Monday, unusually hot for early fall.
The mercury soared to 95 degrees according to official statistics from the K-State Agricultural Research Center south of town. That breaks the previous high in Hays for Oct. 17–91 degrees set back in 2005.
Several record highs were set yesterday in western Kansas. Dodge City reached 101 degrees for the state’s high.
Tuesday’s weather forecast is calling for much cooler temperatures.
