Kansas high school group arrives safely after SUV hits a deer

KHPRILEY COUNTY – A Kansas school group was involved in an accident at 7a.m. on Tuesday in Riley County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Chevy Suburban from Pike Valley USD 246 and driven by Stephanie K. Jensen, 49, Courtland, was southbound on U.S. 77 two miles north of Randolph.

The SUV hit a deer.

Jensen and seven teen students were not injured and arrived for the KAYS conference scheduled at Wabaunsee High on Tuesday, according to principal Jeremy Luedke.
