GLADSTONE, Mo. (AP) — The Latest on the shooting of police officers in Missouri (all times local):
Police say a Kansas City-area officer who was shot Sunday night is out of surgery and expected to make a full recovery after rehabilitation.
The Gladstone Police Department posted the announcement on its Twitter page Monday morning.
The unnamed officer was shot after a passenger jumped out of a vehicle and fled during a traffic stop in the suburb just north of Kansas City, Missouri, around 10:35 p.m.
Thanks to everyone who has expressed concern for our officer shot tonight. He is at the hospital recovering from his injuries.

The officer chased the fleeing passenger and sustained a non-life threatening wound.
The suspect was fatally wounded in the encounter, but it’s unclear who pulled the trigger.

GLADSTONE, Mo. (AP) — A police officer and a suspect have both been shot near Kansas City, Missouri. The teenage suspect was shot and killed during a traffic stop near Vivion Road and 169 Highway, according to police.
Multiple media reports say the shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. Sunday. The officer involved is with the Gladstone, Missouri, police department. Gladstone is a Kansas City suburb.
No further information has been released, but the Kansas City Fraternal Order of Police said on Twitter that the officer is expected to survive.
Thankfully Gladstone officer shot tonight is expected to live. Not many more details but this is the best news we could have asked for.

The shooting came on the same day a San Antonio officer was fatally shot, and a St. Louis officer was critically wounded in what the police chief called an “ambush” attack by someone who pulled alongside the officer’s SUV.
