ELLIS COUNTY – A Rooks County woman died in an accident just after 2 p.m. Nov. 20 in Ellis County.

Following an eight-day investigation, the Kansas Highway Patrol on Tuesday reported a 1999 Buick LeSabre driven by Matthew D. Miller, 34, Plainville, was southbound on U.S.183 thirteen miles north of Hays.

The LeSabre crossed left of center and hit a 2004 Dodge Stratus driven by Jon Stuart Olson II, 41, Hays, head-on.

Olson, Miller and a passenger in the Buick— Kay Nicole Crumble, 36, Plainville — were transported to Hays Medical Center, where Crumble died.

No additional details were released on Tuesday.
