LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — A 31-year-old Lawrence man has been convicted of charges accusing him of beating a woman he met on a dating app.
The Lawrence Journal-World reports that Shane Steven Allen was arrested in April after he was accused of confining a 20-year-old woman to his home and beating her repeatedly over a six-day period. Court documents show Allen picked up the woman at her Lawrence sorority house after meeting her on Tinder.
Allen pleaded no contest Friday in Douglas County court to two felony counts of aggravated battery and is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 22.
