SALINE COUNTY – A Kansas man was injured in an accident just after 6 a.m. on Friday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Chevy Silverado driven by Kyle D. Lorson, 30, Salina, was westbound on Interstate 70 just east of 9th Street.

The driver lost control on the bridge due to icy conditions.

The pickup slid across the median, hit a guardrail, rolled across eastbound lanes and hit an eastbound 2010 Mercury Milan driven by Stephanie J. Schmeck, 47, Salina.

Lorson was transported to Salina Regional Medical Center.

Schmeck was not injured.

Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
