EMPORIA, Kan. – The shooting woes for the Fort Hays State women’s basketball team continued Wednesday night in Emporia. The Tigers were held to 28-percent and lost 59-48 to the 12th-ranked Hornets at White Auditorium. The Tigers (15-6, 6-6 MIAA) have now lost four of their last five.

The Tigers missed their first 11 shots of the third quarter and fell behind by 14. A 12-2 run closed the gap to four on a steal a layup by Taylor Rolfs with 6:41 to play, but the Lady Hornets (18-3, 9-3 MIAA) scored the next five and never let the Tigers closer than six the rest of the way.
Jill Faxon was back in the starting lineup and led FHSU with 19 points. Tatyana Legette, who scored 23 and had 10 rebounds in the Tigers win over ESU in Hays in December, picked up two early fouls and was held to three points.
Kelly Moten led three Lady Hornets in double-figures with 13 points.
