RUSSELL – Russell Community Theater will present “Breaking Legs” as its annual dinner theater showing June 27-July 1.
The delightful comedy is written by Tom Dulack and directed by RCT volunteer Crystal Craig. The cast of six includes Ward Craig, Mitch Eaton and Mitch Hunsley, all veteran RCT actors/volunteers.Ken Jeroue and Trey Varner are returning to the RCT stage, while Lexie Reinhardt is making her RCT debut.
The restaurant biz, show biz and gangster biz collide in an Italian restaurant when a playwright seeks funding for his new play from the family of a former student. The “family” – minor Mafia godfathers – are willing to finance the play provided they never have to read it. Causing additional drama is the daughter of the mob boss, who falls in love with the playwright. In this madcap situation, murder and menace are served up with plenty of pasta and laughter.
Performances run Tuesday through Saturday, June 27-July 1 at the Russell Elks Lodge (South Highway 281). Dinner is served from 6:30 to 7:30 pm and show time is 8:00 pm. Reservations open June 13 and are required for all seats. For reservations, visit Encore Antiques & Collectables (590 S. Fossil, Russell) or call 785-483-4057. “Breaking Legs” is presented by special arrangement with DRAMATISTS PLAY SERVICE INC.
