HAYS, Kan. – The Hays Eagles Senor American Legion baseball team picked up another one-run win and swept Russell 7-1 and 7-6 to run their winning streak to seven.
Trey Riggs and Brett Herrman both drove in two runs in the second game helping Tyrone Wynn to the win. Winn allowed four runs on five hits over six innings. Palmer Hutchison allowed two runs in the seventh but picked up the save.
Hays scored four in the second and two in the third to build a five-run lead in the first game. Dawson Harman had two hits and drove in four to lead the offense. Cole Murphy struck out five and allowed one run on four hits for the complete game victory.
The Eagles improve to 9-2 and travel to Russell for a doubleheader Sunday afternoon.
