FHSU Management Development Center to offer Project Management Essentials

FHSU University Relations and Marketing

The Management Development Center at Fort Hays State University will offer “Project Management Essentials” as part of its summer workshop series. This two-day training will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, and Wednesday, June 22, at the university’s Sternberg Museum of Natural History.

DeAnn Sullivan, instructor at the Center for Management Development at Wichita State University and a certified project management professional, will facilitate.

This program provides hands-on experience and real-life applications for many of the widely recognized project management methods in business, including work breakdown structure; network diagramming; critical path technique; and earned value management. Key process steps are practiced through team exercises, allowing participants to understand how, when, and why they should be used.

The workshop will provide participants with the roles and expectations for project managers, sponsors, and team members; the ability to manage scope, time, cost, quality, communication, and developing project teams; creating and executing a project plan; and closing a project.

Each person who completes the workshop will receive a completion certificate.

The cost for this two-day workshop is $849.

The Management Development Center at Fort Hays State University is recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management to offer professional development credits for SHRM Certified Professional or SHRM Senior Certified Professional. This program is valid for 12.0 PDCs for the CP or SCP credentials. For more information about certification or recertification, visit shrmcertification.org.
