Registration open for Hit The Bricks 5K in downtown Hays

The Cancer Council of Ellis County is pleased to announce its fifth annual 5K Sat., July 22 in downtown Hays. Proceeds from the “Hit the Bricks 5K” will benefit the CCEC and its mission to deliver financial assistance and services to local cancer patients and their families.

The race will start and finish at 10th and Fort Streets. Registration starts at 6:15 a.m. and the race will begin at 7:00 a.m., rain or shine. The tax-deductible registration fee is $20 for all participants before July 17. The day of the race the fee goes to $25.

“All fitness levels and all ages are welcome to race,” Paula Flesher, executive director of the CCEC said. “We have little ones from age one to seasoned racers over 60. You can walk, you can run, or you can bike. It really is something the entire family can enjoy.”

All race participants and supporters are invited to the awards presentation immediately following the race. Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers.
