Hays’ City Clerk, Brenda Kitchen, has been awarded the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

To receive this designation, Kitchen had to complete 120 hours of educational programs including training in the areas of Administrative Law, Public Administration, Organization and Management, Fiscal Policy and Budgeting, Government Planning, Interpersonal Communications, Personnel Administration, Public Relations, Contemporary Problems in Government, Cash Management and Investments, and Records Management.

Kitchen is in her 37th year with the city of Hays Clerk’s Office. She was appointed to her current role of City Clerk in June 2013.
