Reserved FHSU tailgate spots now available at Lewis Field

HAYS, Kan. – Beginning with the 2017 Fort Hays State football season, fans will have the opportunity to purchase reserved tailgating spaces outside Lewis Field Stadium. The spots are available for just $100 for the entire season and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

“The introduction of the new tailgating spots allows for Tiger fans to gather together and enjoy Saturdays in the fall,” said assistant athletic director Matt Cook. “Each spot is adjacent to a grassy area, giving fans the opportunity to set up tents, lawn chairs, grills, games and more. This is a great way to grow the tailgating atmosphere at FHSU.”

The spots are located in the cement parking lot north of Lewis Field Stadium, just a short walk from the entrances to the stadium. As always, the lot will open four hours before kickoff.

The new tailgating spots, the renovated seating on the west side of the stadium and a great home schedule are just a few of the reasons to be excited for the upcoming season. FHSU will play six games at Lewis Field, including four rivalry games against Pittsburg State (10/7), Washburn (10/14), Emporia State (10/28) and Nebraska-Kearney (11/11). Season tickets start as low as $42 and are available here.

“For those days when fans don’t have time to tailgate, these spots allow fans to arrive at any time and know they will have a great parking spot waiting for them.”
