The temperature hit the century mark in Hays Tuesday. It was the first time this year and one week ahead of the official start of summer on June 20.
According to the report from the K-State Agricultural Center, the mercury climbed to 100 degrees Tue., June 13. The record high for that date in Hays is 105 degrees set in 1918, 1950 and 1980. One year ago on June 13 the high was 94 degrees.
Today’s weather forecast calls for a cooler 91 degrees.
