Bernard J. “Ben” Beilman, 95, of Louisville, CO died Friday, June 16, 2017 at Juniper Village, Louisville, CO. He was born April 23, 1922 in Hays, KS; the seventh son of Joseph A. and Elizabeth Beilman. Ben married Irene Romey on May 26, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA.
Ben and Irene built their first home in Hays, KS and had eight children. After having spent four years in military service as an infantry Lieutenant, Ben worked for KS Blue Cross Blue Shield for 30 years: first as a marketing representative and then an External Enrollment Director. In 1975, Ben moved his family to Topeka, KS where they lived until 2014. He enjoyed playing music, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; six sons: Mick (Jeanne), Broomfield CO; Paul (Sharon), Las Vegas, NV; Chris (Theresa), Eudora, KS; Jim (Valerie), Bernie (Jeanette), Topeka, KS; Gene (Celina), Hays, KS; two daughters, Clarita Beluscak, Broomfield, CO; Laurie (Phil) Toepfer, Hays, KS; one sister: Mary Ann Deskins (Jim), Wichita, KS; one brother: Wilfred, Penn Valley CA, 22 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Beilman was cremated. On Tuesday, June 27th, 2017, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 201 W 13th St, Hays, KS, visitation will be from 9:00am-9:45 am, and a Memorial Mass will be held at 10am followed by internment in St, Joseph’s Cemetery, Hays, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Hays.
