Work underway on K-383 in Phillips County

KDOT

The Kansas Department of Transportation has started work on a resurfacing project along K-383 in Phillips County. Crews are working on a 15-mile portion from the Norton County line to the U.S. 183 junction.

Project work includes a 3/4-inch mill followed by application of a 1 1/2-inch asphalt overlay to improve roadway conditions and extend pavement life. Traffic in the construction zone will be reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers and a pilot car during daylight hours. Minor delays not exceeding 15 minutes should be expected.

Venture Corporation of Great Bend is the primary contractor for the project with a total contract cost of approximately $1.2 million. Work is expected to be completed by early July, weather permitting.
