Hays Eagles end skid with win in Garden City

GARDEN CITY, Kan. – Brady Kreutzer pitched a complete game shutout as the Hays Eagles Senior American Legion beat Ulysses 5-0 Friday afternoon in their opening game of the Jim Clanton Memorial Baseball Tournament, ending their four-game losing streak.

Kreutzer allowed three hits while striking out three and walking none.

Leading 1-0, the Eagles (14-6) scored three in the fifth inning on singles from Grant Coffman and Trey Riggs. Palmer Hutchison single drove in their final run in the sixth.

Coffman and Riggs both had two of the Eagles seven hits with Hutchison and Riggs both driving in two runs.

The Eagles continue pool play Saturday against Widefield (CO) and the Southwest Hitters.
