Eighth inning home run leads Derby to win over Larks

The Derby Twins scored a run in the eighth inning and rallied for a 5-4 win over the Hays Larks in game two of their three-game series Saturday at Larks Park in Hays.

The Larks jumped out to a 3-0 lead on a three-run Clayton Rasbeary homerun, his third of the season. But the Twins answered right back with a three-run top of the third inning.

Trailing 4-3 into the seventh inning Rasbeary tied the game at four, scoring on a wild pitch but with one out in the top of the seventh Anthony Dominguez hit a solo homerun giving the Twins a 5-4 lead and they would go on to win by that score.

Hays reliever Ryan Kotulek suffered the loss allowing just the homerun in an inning of work. Rasbeary and Spencer Packard each collected two hits in the loss.

The Larks are 11-6 and 11-5 in the Jayhawk League. The two teams are scheduled to play the final game of the series Sunday at 7 p.m. at Larks Park.
