OKLAHOMA CITY – The Hays Larks offense once again carried them to a win over Oklahoma City Thursday as they completed a four-game sweep of the Indians with a 15-9 win.
Hays opened the game with a four-run first inning, scoring two on a Clayton Rasbeary triple. Spencer Packard added an RBI double and Alex Weiss singled home a run in the inning to put Hays up 4-0.
The Larks added five runs in the second inning capped off by a Weiss three-run home run that put Hays up 9-0.
Oklahoma City rallied for eight runs in the sixth, cutting the Larks lead to 12-9 but the Larks answered with three in the seventh on their way to a 15-9 win.
Weiss was 2-for-5 and drove in four runs. Hays starter Matt Fish earned the victory allowing one run, on four hits with two strikes in five innings.
Hays moves 15-6 and 15-5 in the Jayhawk League just a game and a half back of Liberal.
The Larks are in Derby for a weekend series starting this evening.
