Phillipsburg resident Oren M. Christy passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg, KS at the age of 91.

He was born September 21, 1925 in Phillips County, KS, the son of Charles & Nora (Farley) Christy. His daughter, Patrice Lynne Rhodes, preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 1995.

Survivors include his wife, Velda, of Phillipsburg; son, Steve, of Norton, KS; daughter, Deb Stohs, of Bremen, KS; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren; and 2 step great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 3, at 2:00 p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Lew Van Der Wege officiating. Burial will follow in the Agra Cemetery, Agra, KS, with military honors by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard.

Mr. Christy will lie in-state on Saturday, July 1, from 5 – 9 p.m. and again Sunday, July 2, from noon – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
