The Hays Larks will open play at the National Baseball Congress World Series Sunday at 11 am against the San Antonio (TX) Angels. The Seattle (WA) Studs and one of the two qualifiers from the tournament’s First Week will also be in the Larks pool. Those games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday of next week at a time to be determined.
The Angels are the only Championship Week team making their first NBC World Series appearance, earning their bid by winning the CenTex Collegiate Baseball League championship.
The Larks, who are making their 30th NBC World Series appearance, secured a spot with their runner-up finish a year ago.
