Former Phillipsburg resident Gladys T. George passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Stanton County Long Term Care in Johnson, KS at the age of 88.

She was born in Rooks County, KS on Sept. 6, 1928, the daughter of Frank & Rose (Morin) Balthazor. She married Dorrell George on Aug. 9, 1949 in Damar, KS. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2016.

Survivors include her son, Neal George of Scott City, KS; daughters, Sondra Fleming of Grapevine, TX, Sharon Porter of Johnson, KS, and Shirley Wagner of Haslet, TX; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and four sisters: Eunice Berland of Hays, KS; Irma Kirkpatrick of Long Beach, CA; Joyce Wasinger of Denver, CO; and Opel Hochandal of Seattle, WA.

Cremation was chosen. Friends may sign the book Thursday, July 27, from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.

A scriptural wake & rosary service will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with the family greeting friends from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 28, at 10:00 a.m. in the SS Philip & James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, with Father Jose Kumblumkal officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
