QUINTER–Twenty-nine teams played in the second annual Gove County Medical Center (GCMC) charity golf tournament on Friday, August 11, at the Grinnell Cow Paddy Golf Club.

Golfers from all over northwest Kansas enjoyed a perfect, sunny day as they golfed “with a twist.” The Grinnell Cow Paddy Club added several fun games on the course, such as “tee off from a toilet,” or “putt with your shoe.” Players also searched the course for five “golden golf balls.” Each golden golf ball provided the winner with a half hour massage.

The goal for the tournament was to reach $11,000.00 to pay for cancer rehabilitation exercise therapy for GCMC patients.

Cancer brings so many burdens, financial and otherwise. Providing this special individualized therapy at no charge to the patient is a way GCMC can give back to the community. Thanks to the generosity of the many sponsors, donors, and golfers for helping reach the goal!
