ROOKS COUNTY–Please join us for a public meeting on Tuesday, September 12, 6:00 p.m. at the Rooks County Health Center Education Center, intersection of Highway 183 and K-18, Plainville, to brainstorm ways to add sustainable quality of life activities or events to our community. Maybe there is new equipment, school initiatives, community improvement, etc. that are in need of discussion.
The event is hosted by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, Heartland Community Foundation (HCF) and Rooks County Economic Development.
“The purpose of the meeting is to promote strategic-doing, a process that brings civic leaders together to prioritize and collaborate on areas that could transform Rooks County, such as investment in parts, the arts, downtown revitalization, rural housing, entrepreneurship, tourism, and economic development,” said Sally Lowry, HCF board member.
Betty Johnson of the Dane G. Hansen Foundation will facilitate discussions. Focus groups will form to develop action plans.
The community at-large is invited, including government, business owners, farmers, ranchers, educators, clergy, students, retired persons, young professionals, volunteers, health officials, stay-at-home parents and all others who have a passion for growth and a rich quality of life in Rooks County.
“We hope to see representatives from all communities in Rooks County and from all walks of life,” said Kelli Hansen, HCF board member.
“This is your time to bring your thinking to the table in an action focused environment and make a difference for your community. Attendance by community members ensures gifts totaling $1,200,000 to our communities over the next four years,” Hansen added.
The event is free and open to the public. A meal will be served. To reserve your space, please RSVP to Kelli Hansen at [email protected], Sally Lowry at [email protected] or Roger Hrabe at [email protected]
