Tigers fall at Rogers State

Claremore, Okla. – The Fort Hays State men’s soccer team dropped its first game of the weekend on Thursday (Sept. 7), dipping to 0-2-1 on the season after a 1-0 loss at Rogers State. The Hillcats improved to 2-1 overall this year.

The lone goal in the match came in the 63rd minute from Roger State’s Jaxon Pitt. Kevin Kwarteng found Pitt with a pass in the box and Pitt sent the shot past Michael Yantz.

Fort Hays State was outshot by Rogers State 16-7 on the night, but the Tigers lacked efficiency as only three of those shots were on frame. Abdoulaye Cisse led the Tigers with three shots, two of which were on goal. Yantz took the loss between the pipes for FHSU despite saving nine shots, matching his career high.

The Tigers will continue the search for their first victory on the season as the road trip continues on Saturday (Sept. 9) when they face off against sixth-ranked Midwestern State in Claremore, Okla. The match is set to kickoff at noon.
