Just a day after appearing in the AFCA Division II Top 25 Poll for the first time in program history at No. 21, the Tigers have jumped into the Top 25 of the D2Football.com Poll released on Tuesday (Sept. 12). The Tigers are ranked 17th, their highest yet in the weekly supplemental poll.

Fort Hays State broke into the D2Football.com poll for the first time in program history last year, debuting at No. 23 on October 11 when they held an overall record of 5-1. The Tigers dropped out the following week, but returned on October 25 at No. 24 in the poll. That was the last appearance for the Tigers in the D2Football.com poll prior to Tuesday.

The D2Football.com Poll currently has four teams inside the top 25 with Northwest Missouri State at No. 1, Emporia State at No. 10, Fort Hays State at No. 17, and Central Missouri at No. 25. Emporia State’s only loss on the year was to No. 1 Northwest Missouri State.
