HAYS, Kan.-Hays High ran their overall record to 19-6 after a loss to Colby and victories over Phillipsburg and Liberal in Hays on Tuesday night. The Lady Indians opened up with a two set sweep of Phillipsburg, winning 25-21 and 25-23. Tasiah Nunnery had 10 kills, 11 assists and seven digs. Hannah McGuire had 11 assists and two aces. Jaycee Dale added four block assists and Savannah Schneider had three solo blocks.
The Lady Indians struggled with momentum in a straight set loss to Colby falling 24-26, 24-26. The two teams traded blows but neither one of them could break away. Nunnery and Schneider had 6 kills, McGuire and Nunnery eight assists, Dale six kills and four block assists and Brooklyn Schaffer 14 digs.
Hays dominated against Liberal winning 25-14, 25-18. The Lady Indians trailed only once in the entire match.Nunnery had five kills and seven assists, Macee Altman six block assists, and Schaffer and Kallie Leiker led the team with eight digs.
Hays High will travel to Larned on Thursday to play with Larned and LaCrosse.
