NW Kan. student, FHSU profs selected for national juried art exhibit

Three students and three professors from Fort Hays State University’s Department of Art and Design were recently selected to be featured in a national juried art exhibit, “12 x 12,” at the Lawrence Art Center in Lawrence.

The exhibit includes paintings, hand-pulled prints, photography and digital artwork displayed as prints from over 60 artists across the United States.

Amy Schmierback, professor, received a third-place juror designation. The other faculty members selected are Gordon Sherman, professor, and Joel Dugan, associate professor.

Students are Juanita Estrada, Aurora, Colo., senior majoring in art and design; Randi Nielsen, Monument, Colo., senior majoring in art and design; and McKenna O’Hare, Oberlin, junior majoring in art and design.
