HAYS, Kan.-Thomas More Prep-Marian Volleyball standout Kayla Vitztum signed her national letter of intent to play for Newman University on Tuesday afternoon in the TMP cafeteria. Vitztum will begin her career with the NCAA Division II Jets out of Wichita next Fall. She helped TMP to their first state volleyball championship last month and has helped lead the program since entering TMP in 2014.

Vitztum has accumulated several accolades in her career on the volleyball floor as well as basketball and soccer. She has been named 1st Team All State (3A) in volleyball the past two seasons as well as 1st Team All Mid Continent League in 2015, 2016 and 2017. On top of her 1st Team All State performance in volleyball last season she also earned the same honor in both basketball and soccer.

Kayla is the daughter of Brian and Tina Vitztum. She has an older brother Jared who graduated from TMP in 2016 and is currently a member of the Fort Hays State University men’s basketball team and an older sister, Alyssa.
