Dean Gottschalk was one of three people elected to the USD 388 school board in last week’s general election, capping off a successful write-in campaign.
According to the official election results canvased Thursday by the Ellis County Commission, Gottschalk received the second most votes and is one of three people elected to the USD 388 Board of Education.
Jared Schiel was the top vote getter, receiving 465 votes. Gottschalk received the second most votes with 435 and Mike Gaschler came in third with 331 votes.
The USD 388 school district covers western Ellis County and a portion of eastern Trego County.
In the race for mayor of Ellis, David McDaniel was re-elected by a margin of 302 to 238 over Dena Patee.
