Friday was a warm day in Hays with a new record high set for Nov. 17.
According to official statistics from the KSU Agricultural Research Center, the temperature reached 83 degrees, breaking the old record high of 81 degrees set in 1943.
There was also a a little bit of rain and drizzle overnight, just 0.03 inches, which brings the year-to-date moisture total to 28.06 inches.
Saturday’s high was considerably cooler at just 52 degrees, with gusty winds out of the northwest up to 38 miles an hour as recorded at the Hays Regional Airport. Sunday warmed up to 60 degrees.
Today’s weather forecast is calling for an even warmer day with a high of 70 degrees.
