Fort Hays State professor named president of statewide organization

The Educational Foundation of the Kansas Society of CPAs held its annual meeting on Nov. 15 at the Embassy Suites Kansas City/Olathe Hotel and Conference Center.

Charles Gnizak, CPA, Fort Hays State University, was elected as president of the Educational Foundation Board of Trustees for 2017-2018. Other elected officers of the 2017-2018 Educational Foundation Board of Trustees are: Vice-President, Laura M. Zellers, CPA, Wichita State University, Wichita; and Secretary/Treasurer Rebecca Shaw, CPA, Berberich Trahan & Co., P.A., Topeka.

Elected to four-year terms on the Educational Foundation Board of Trustees are: Emily N. Keesling, CPA, Allen Gibbs & Houlik, L.C., Wichita; Kimberly D. Charland, M.Acc., CPA, Kansas State University, Manhattan; and Rachel A. Green, CPA, The University of Kansas, Lawrence.

The 2017-2018 KSCPA Chair, Chad M. Allen, CPA.CITP, Hutchins & Haake, LLC, Overland Park, will also serve a one-year term on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

The Educational Foundation of The Kansas Society of CPAs was incorporated on October 23, 1963 as a non-profit organization to fund educational programs that advance the accounting profession. The Foundation is primarily funded by members of the Kansas Society of CPAs and contributions from the general public.
