GARDEN CITY, Kan. – The Hays High softball team was held to two runs yesterday and was swept by Garden City 8-1 and 5-1.
The Buffs scored five in the sixth to blow open the first game which was called after six by run-rule. Kaitlyn Brown allowed eight runs on 11 hits and suffered the loss in the opener. Jaysa Wichers drove in the Indians only run.
Garden City scored single runs in every inning but one in the second game. Hays scored their lone run on a wild pitch in the fourth. Jaysa Wichers took the loss allowing the five runs on five hits with six strikeouts and three walks.
The Indians drop to 5-9 and host Sacred Heart and TMP-Marian in a triangular tomorrow.
