Goodale poised to lead FHSU baseball back to prominence

The first time Jerod Goodale suffered through a losing season was in his first year as a college head coach. His Colorado School of Mines team finished 17-30 back in 2012. They would struggle through losing seasons in three of his first fours years in Golden before breaking through with 29 wins in 2016.

Under Goodale’s guidance, the Orediggers won over 30 games in each of the last two seasons and this past spring qualified for their first NCAA Division II Tournament.

Now the former Hays High and Fort Hays State standout catcher is poised to lead his alma mater back to baseball prominence.

Goodale was named the Tigers new head coach last week and took some time to visit with the media Tuesday about his return to Hays.
