DERBY, Kan. – The Hays Larks were going for the three-game sweep of Derby Sunday afternoon but mother nature had other plans as their finale was rained out.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader in Hays on July 14th.
The Larks won the first two games of the series, taking Friday’s opener 2-0 in 11 innings on Easton Kirk’s two-run home run. They hit four home runs in a 26-1 rout Saturday.
The Larks are now 15-4 overall and 9-3 in the Jayhawk League where they’re tied for first with Liberal.
The Larks host Dodge City Monday night at 7 pm. Admission is free courtesy of Prudential and Emprise Bank.
The Athletics were also rained out yesterday after winning the first two games with Oklahoma City.
