Just before 6p.m. Tuesday, officers attempted to stop a beige four door vehicle for a stop sign violation, according to Topeka Police spokesperson Gretchen Koenen,

The adult male driver identified as 26-year-old Dustin Hundertfund failed to yield for officers and attempted to elude officers by driving through the grassy area of the apartments at SE 3rd Street and Lime in Topeka where children were out playing.

He then continued to try and elude officers by running into and barricaded himself inside a nearby apartment bathroom, according to police.

Officers were able to extract him from the apartment and he was taken into custody on requested charges including aggravated battery and aggravated burglary.
