Craig Jacob Parker, Harvey to his closest friends, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, September 1, 2018.
Craig was born a twin September 12, 1947 to Thomas F. Parker and Lucille (Staab) Parker in Hays, Kansas. He graduated from TMP-SJMA, June 1965, and attended Fort Hays State College. He worked many sales jobs, but loved working in the oil industry the most. Craig retired to La Crosse, Kansas, and considered La Crosse his new hometown. During his retirement, he enjoyed delivering meals to the rural population through the Rush County Meal Service Program. Craig’s favorite pastime was playing bingo. He was a loyal friend, and tried to see the good in others. He enjoyed laughing and making others laugh as well. His recent hobby was researching his ancestry. Above all, his Catholic faith brought him solace and contentment.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lucille Parker; brother, Colin Parker, 1960; and brother, Curt Parker, 2015.
He is survived by his sisters, Cary Ryan, Columbus, OH; Claudia Pratt, Hays, Kansas; his twin, Constance Appelrouth, Vienna, Virginia; Cheryl Noorani, Fort Mill, South Carolina; and Christine Wasinger, Hays, Kansas; his uncle, Norman Parker, Hays, Kansas; sister in law, Jeanette Parker, Wichita, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 5, 2018, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas. A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 P.M.
Church visitation will be Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 9:00 A.M. to 9:50 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas.
Funeral service will be Thursday, September 6, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas, with Father Eric Gyamfi officiating. Interment will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.
