Joyce Ann (Pulec) Marcotte passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Redbud Village in Plainville, Kansas at the age of 87. She was born on September 22, 1930 in Hays, Kansas to the late Eddie E. and Marjorie (Morris) Pulec and grew up in Plainville with her two brothers, Jack and Mick, and graduated from Plainville High School. She was united in marriage to Leroy Marcotte on August 16, 1950 in Zurich, Kansas. They were blessed with a son, Tony.
Joyce had many interests and passions. In her younger days she was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling having won many trophies, in both sports, over the years. She liked being outdoors, camping, boating, skiing, and fishing. As a lover of music, she not only sang and played the organ, but developed a lifelong passion for her favorite musician, the king himself, Elvis Presley. She visited Graceland three times, and had a huge collection of his music and memorabilia. When she could no longer play golf, she watched it on television all the time, and became a huge Tiger Woods fan. She also liked watching football and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys follower.
Joyce was a loving and hardworking wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She worked at the hospital in Plainville, as a bookkeeper for Leroy’s business, Triple M Tank Service, worked at the Coastal Mart, and finally at the Dairy Queen, where she worked for over twenty years until the age of 84. She always loved the people she worked with and all of the friends and neighbors she got to see while working. She was very disheartened when she finally had to retire from work. But the time she loved the most was spending it with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Forever young at heart, she will be missed by all who knew her.
Joyce is survived by her son Tony Marcotte and wife Renee; brother Jack Pulec; grandchildren Missy Cadoret and husband Tony, Raquel Witt and husband Jason, and Brent Marcotte; great-grandchildren Justine, Trinity, Calliegh, Ayden, Phoenix, Aubree, Cruz, and Cason; and great-great-grandchildren Kambree, and Karlyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Marjorie Pulec, husband Leroy Marcotte, brother Mick Pulec, and grandson Cody Kaba.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home in Plainville. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Plainville. There will be no visitation.
