The Thomas More Prep-Marian boys’ soccer team will host a Class 4-1A state quarterfinal game at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Fort Hays State University soccer stadium.

The Monarchs (8-7) will play Topeka-Hayden (8-10) for the right to advance to this weekend’s state semifinals in Kansas City.

TMP, seeded eighth in the Central/South Central regional, shut out top-seeded Coffeyville-Field Kindley 3-0 in the regional championship game on the Golden Tornado’s home field last Thursday to advance to state.

It marks the second trip to state for the Monarch boys in the 14-year history of their program. TMP’s first regional title came in just the fifth year of the program in 2009.
