Burdett – Dwight E. “Ed” Eakin, 75, died November 5, 2018, at his home in Burdett.
He was born December 8, 1942, in Great Bend; the son of Dwight M and Rita Ragle Eakin. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer.
He enjoyed trap shooting, fishing, fixing up pedal cars and pedal tractors, putting together puzzles, and traveling to Colorado.
On September 11, 1993 he married Dianne M. Courchaine. She survives.
Other survivors include; two sons Jason (Caroline) Klotz, Belton, TX, Shannon (Jackie) Eakin, Hays, four daughters Lisa-Marie (Tim) Eberl, Wichita, Kristy (Brian) McAninch, Kim (Trevis) Galliart, Rozel, Tina Owens, Larned; four sisters JoAnne Lewis, Burdett, Linda Schelhaas, Aurelia Dumler, and Elaine Barnes; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at Burdett United Methodist Church, Burdett on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Rob Schmutz presiding. Inurnment will be at the Brown’s Grove Cemetery, Burdett.
