Glenn Henry Hofts

Glenn Henry Hofts was born September 19, 1923, in rural Ruskin Nebraska, the son of Henry Hofts and Rena Steinman Hofts. He died Saturday November 24, 2018, at Parkview Care Center, Osborne KS at the age of 95.

Glenn graduated from Republic High School in 1942. Following high school he enlisted into the U.S. Navy serving in Jacksonville, Fl, San Diego CA and was assigned to the USS Enterprise. Following WWII he returned to Republic where he was united in marriage to Phyllis Elaine Thomas in 1947. To this marriage two children were born, Jamie and Thomas.

Glenn owned and operated Hofts Plumbing, Heating and Electric serving generations of families in North Central Kansas and South Central Nebraska for over 60 years.

After 70 years of marriage he was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis earlier this year.

Glenn is survived by his daughter Jamie (Mike) Woolley of Osborne KS; his son Thomas (Laurie) Hofts of Plant City, FL; a grandson who shares Glenn’s birthdate Terran (Tina) Woolley of Hutchinson; 2 granddaughters Katrina (Ryan) McClure and Jackie Hofts, both of Topeka, and great-grandsons; two sisters, Josephine Simms of Belleville and Florence Elliott of Hays; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Friends may call at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS from 1 PM until 8 PM on Friday, Nov. 30th, with the family greeting friends from 4 PM until 6 PM on Friday.

The Funeral will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Republic United Methodist Church, Republic, KS. Interment will follow at Lake Cemetery north of Republic.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorials to the Republic United Methodist Church, 501 Pawnee Ave, 66964.
